Your Outside-Agency Level III Consultant

Many repair stations and manufacturers don't have enough Level III work to justify a full-time hire, but their programs still need Level III judgment: approved procedures, a current written practice (your NDT manual), qualified examinations, and someone who can answer an auditor's technical questions.

We fill that role on demand or under contract, while your Level II staff handle production inspection. Based in Miami, FL, we serve South Florida directly and travel for on-site work wherever our services are requested.

What a Level III Does for Your Program

An NDT Level III is responsible for the technical side of an NDT program: writing and approving procedures and techniques, overseeing training and examinations, and interpreting codes and specifications. Under NAS 410, the Responsible Level III can be an outside agency — an arrangement many shops use instead of a full-time hire.

One distinction matters in audits: an outside Level III can train and examine your personnel, but certification is issued by you, the employer, under your written practice (SNT-TC-1A or NAS 410). We make sure your written practice, records, and examinations support that certification.

Audits, Accreditation, and Setting Up Your NDT Department

Level III consulting goes beyond procedures and exams. We also cover:

• Internal audits — checking your NDT program against your written practice, procedures, and customer specifications before an outside auditor does
• Vendor audits — evaluating NDT suppliers and subcontractors before you approve them, and on a schedule after
• Accreditation readiness — preparing your NDT operation for accreditation and customer audits, including Nadcap for aerospace suppliers
• NDT department design and layout — planning a new or expanded NDT area: workflow, space, and equipment needs
• Code interpretation — answering what a code or specification actually requires when a procedure doesn't settle it
• Experience verification — confirming and documenting each candidate's experience before certification, as your written practice requires
• Custom solutions — developing techniques and procedures for parts or requirements a standard procedure doesn't cover

Probability of Detection (POD) Studies

A Probability of Detection (POD) study shows how reliably an inspection finds the flaw sizes that matter for your parts. We run POD studies when a customer or specification requires that proof.

2. We identify gaps against SNT-TC-1A, NAS 410, and your customers' requirements.
3. We write or revise procedures and technique sheets, and run training and examinations.
